Kal-Tone opened in 2014, and closed in 2023. I continued to build and repair guitars as “Charters Guitars” by appointment, and moved into the current workshop. Welcoming back Lachlan MacQuarrie to repair and take care of customers, we’ve now got a nice selection of instruments, amps, pedals, strings, parts, etc upstairs, as I continue my craft downstairs, as I have been doing professionally since 1998.

Please excuse the dated nature of this website. It’s all my fault. My webmaster is patiently awaiting my content in order to continue! The workbench has always had instruments waiting their turn and my time, and as such I’m a “not so great” business manager. But we are great at helping customers with whatever their issues may be, with honesty, experience, reasonable turnaround times, and always always excellent service and craftsmanship leading our way
